Ø      Typed

Ø      Times New Roman style font

Ø      12 point font size

Ø      1 inch margins on all sides

Ø      Double-spaced throughout

Ø      Spell-checked

Ø      Grammar-checked

Ø      Personally proofread

Ø      Title is present, catchy, relevant, and  original

Ø      Title is centered, and is not underlined, in quotation marks, or in bold print

Ø      MLA format is used throughout

Ø      MLA headers (last name, 3 spaces, page number) are in top right corner

Ø      MLA heading is used (top left)

                        Example:        Student Name

                                                Mrs. Adams

                                                English 12/ ___ Period

                                                Date (use MLA style = 5 October 2004 )

Ø      Essay should be proofread, printed, collated, and stapled in the upper left corner before student arrives in class.

Ø      Essay must be ready at the beginning of class on the due date.

there are many types of essays some can be like a story and some are just facts on paper. basically it depends on what kind of essay you are writing

It has to have 5 paragraphs. 1 thesis, 3 supporting, 1 conclusion. So just make sure that all of them are there and it could become a story if you try hard enough.
