Question: (9/10/2009)
AZ uses the 6 + 1 traits model for its assessment of students in the state, and it interprets whether a student meets expectations on writing as an average score of 3 or higher. My questions are: 1) Are the scores meant to be averaged? 2) Isn't a score of 4 showing competency and not a score of 3?
Answer: (10/4/2011)
A 4 was originally set at 80%. Competency is 75%, so the total of the 6 X 6 traits scored should be a 3.5 (all scores added, then dividedby 6)

I am looking for a student checklist to include in a take-home folder.
