When is the Best Time to Study?
Some students and teens like to study at night, some wake up early and study in the morning. Students say that their brain is more active at night but some becomes drowsy when studying late at night and they are better at studying in the morning. So what time of the day is it more effective to study?
Scientific studies may have shown that the brain works actively at night so it is more effective to study before you go to bed. However this study is not really conclusive since there are other people claiming to study effectively in the morning after waking up.
You can try waking up early in the morning to test if you are a morning person or a night person. See what works for you so you will know what time of the day you can study.
If you are a night person, then you must have a schedule on what time you want to start studying. Studies have also shown that effective studying and good memory retention is also related to the amount of sleep a student gets. If a student is drowsy in the morning because of lack of sleep then he or she is not likely to perform at 100% in their academic performances.
If you have a start time then you have to agree on a specific time to close the books and go to sleep at night. As mentioned, you should have ample time to sleep so that you can absorb and learn effectively.
Even though science says that teens are more likely to study effectively at night, it is still up to you what time you feel your brain is most active. Just remember that if you are a night person, you should also consider having a complete amount of sleep because school usually starts very early in the morning.
